History
16 Elm is over 100 years old, built in 1921 by the Biggs family who were prominent local goods and sundries merchants. The home was custom built to the specifications rumored to be a model of the Governor of Virginia’s home in Williamsburg. No expense was spared in its construction. Over the years it has been lived in by several different families and then eventually purchased in 2012 by a couple that had the vision to fashion it into a B&B, renovating the bedrooms and baths, gardens and grounds. Many personal touches were added and much love and effort was put into the restoration of the home. Then in its centennial year the house again changed hands and was restyled and refurbished into the luxury guest experience that it is today. Love and effort continues to be put into the property to maintain its stately structure and keystone location in the historic Village of Trumansburg.
